Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and grew up within Malibu, California. Salenger loved performing in front of her close family members and friends as a kid. At the age of eight when her mom enrolled her into her first acting class. In the John Huston-directed feature Annie, she played a small role in which she was classified as a "singing and dancing orphan". Salenger was also a part of a variety of television advertisements. Salenger was the first actress to play the lead role in The Journey of Natty Gann, an iconic Disney movie that starred John Cusack with Ray Wise. It was the very first US film to win the Gold Award from the Moscow Film Festival. Also, she took home "Best Female actress in a film" at the Youth in Film Awards in appreciation of her performance as the tomboyish Natty. Following her appearance in 4 more films when she was eighteen years old and also in A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon and A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon, she quit Hollywood for Harvard to pursue her studies.
